Community Garden

The Waterville Main Street Association has always thought having a small farmer's market downtown might be something that visitors and residents alike might appreciate. Because most of the ground here is solid clay and difficult to garden in, we thought if we provided good dirt and a place where our community could gather, grow healthy food, and learn from possible classes given by the Master Gardeners, then they may want to form a Saturday Market to share their abundance.

Jill Thompson, our Vice President, has brought our ideas to fruition, and along with ambitious volunteers, the garden is taking shape. There are 10 beds built for this year's use, and all are spoken for! Stay tuned for more pictures of our progress.
